Ro-Castelorizo Crossing
Our swimming race in honor of the most excellent of the students coming from distant island, was completed successfully at the 14th of September: a difficult race, from Ro to Castelorizo, due to strong currents that would drift us either towards Turkey putting us at risk of being at the water boarder line with the neighboring country, or to the southern part of the island! The race took place under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulou.
We would like, at this point, to express our deep gratitude to the competent port and military authorities who have been particularly supportive safeguarding the smooth and safe conduct of the cross-swimming event. Moreover, we owe the warmest “thank you” to the residents of Castelorizo for their honest hospitality. Last but not least, our team also thanks Ms. Yianna Mavrofridou for taking care of and resolving the technical issues of the event.
