Grant scholarships to the excellent students of our borderline islands. Help them get the education they deserve within ExcellenSeas.
The event was held under the auspices of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic Mr. Constantine An. Tasoulas, and took place on Saturday, 18 October 2025, along the route from Kalamos to Lefkada, covering a distance of 23,430 meters.
Each program scholar is awarded 6,000 € per year to cover his academic costs.
Each individual scholar is assigned a personal scientific advisor with the purpose of monitoring and guiding him/her in academic and professional matters. Additionally, as a further extension of this initiative, a scientific advisor shall be assigned, under the same cause, for those individuals interested, among those who had applied and did not receive a scholarship.
The awareness of the world, the information on the actions of ExcellenSeas, and the expansion of the community are undertaken by the Pastra Cretonaxiosa swimming group with its action.
A further pillar of the ExcellenSeas program provides the opportunity to those students who wish to enrich their professional experience and have applied for scholarships, whether they received one or not, to participate in short-term internships in industries related to their academic background.
The ExcellenSeas community is made up of scholars, now graduates of the program, and the scientific team of consultants.
The scientific team is made up of distinguished university professors and senior business executives.
Our vision is for the community to grow with new scholars and, after the end of the program, to assist the new members as consultants.

Evgenia (founding member of Pastra Cretonaxiosa) believes in constant exercise and knowledge. For Evgenia, swimming is in the service of knowledge.
Vangelis is a formidable swimmer with his eyes always upon social contribution. He always draws attention when he swims.
Vasilis is a founding member of Pastra Cretonaxiosa. Despite being an amateur swimmer, he actively takes part in its swimming missions.
Sotiris is the coach of the team and a first-class swimmer himself. He is the one who taught us that there are no limits in the aquatic world.
Konstantinos, apart from his skills as a swimmer, also covers the team medically on its missions. He embraced the vision of ExcellenSeas early on.
Apostolis, a great swimmer himself, believes in and significantly supports the work of ExcellenSeas.
