Benjamin (Ben) Schüttler (1989-2016) was a consultant in Boston Consulting Group, and a model of academic and professional excellence, mien and true kindness to all who knew and worked with him.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Ben excelled in leading academic institutions. A member of the team of thirty top BCG consultants worldwide for the year 2014, with the opportunity to work for a year in a different country to further develop their skills and broaden their professional horizons, he chose to come to Greece in a period of deep crisis and face very different professional challenges from those he faced in the New York office where he came from. His choice distinguished him from his colleagues, reflecting his willingness to expand beyond his comfort zone for the sake of his personal development.

Ben quickly integrated into the Athens office, and demonstrated leadership potential beyond his work scope, actively participating in office life. He actively shared his talents with his colleagues, guiding and advising newcomers whenever needed. As a professional, he had a rare, powerful mix of leadership, insight, unparalleled faith and a gift for guidance. As a personality, on and off work, he was contagiously optimistic, and had the extraordinary ability to approach everyone with his kindness, generosity, and positive spirit.

Boston Consulting Group honors Ben’s memory though the Benjamin Schüttler scholarship it supports in ExcellenSeas.
