2022 Naxos – Heraklia Cross

Just like every year, the team of Pastra Cretonaxiosa, is again preparing for the annual cross swim in honor of the excellent students of the small distant Greek islands. The purpose of this highly symbolic initiative is to raise public awareness in order to financially support the work of the “ExcellenSeas” scholarship program.

The team’s mission scheduled for 2022, concerns a cross-swim during which the distance of 35 kilometers is going to be covered, from Naxos and the temple of Apollo to Heraklia. The distance will be covered by the members of the swimming team who are going to swim in the form of a relay race.

This year’s cross-swim, which will take place under the auspices of HE the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, is going to happen on Sunday October 23 rd , 2022.

The team, during their stay in Naxos, will have the pleasure of being hosted at the Naxian Collection/Tortuga hotel and we would like to express our gratitude for that to Mr. Ioannis Margaritis and Mrs. Maria Polykreti.

In addition, we express our warm gratitude to the ATTICA Group that supports us by covering the transport of the team’s members from Piraeus to Naxos and from Naxos to Piraeus, as well as to the captain Mr. Ioannis Poulios who will accompany the team during the cross-swim, with one of the boats owned by his company, Naxos Yachting |Catamarans DANAE, RENA & ANASSA.

The swimmers participating in the cross swim are: Evgenia Giannini, Sotirios Pastras, Apostolos Tsagkarakis, Evaggelos Zourbakis, Konstantinos Michos, Vasileios Maroulis and Vasileios Sofikitis.
